Society - Salamanca was founded by Hobart locals Angela Nichols and Emma Davis. In 2015 the childhood friends made the brave decision to open a bar in their home town. Ange was a veteran of the local hospitality scene and Emma was a successful lawyer, looking for a change.

With the help of the community, and their dedicated team they built an award-winning venue that continues to serve exceptional drinks and memorable experiences to guests from near and far.

Ange and Emma also own and operate neighbourhood institutions Raincheck Lounge and Willing Wine Bar, which are located side-by-side in North Hobart.
